South East Virtual Careers Fair - Wednesday 19th October, 10am - 4pm

This is a perfect event for anyone ready to start exploring graduate roles or placement opportunities. Portsmouth is teaming up with seven other universities across the South Coast to bring you a host of employers just waiting to hire you.

Visit the Careers Fair website to create a stunning profile, book your slot at presentations or one-to-one opportunities with employers, and generally prepare to boss being an adult.

RepCon ‘22 - Wednesday 19th October, 1pm - 5:30pm

If you’re a course rep, look out for RepCon on Wednesday. This is the biggest training event of the year, providing networking opportunities and the chance to develop key transferable skills.

There will also be refreshments and free hoodies for first-time course reps (winning). Check your emails to book tickets, and follow their Instagram to keep updated with everything Course Rep.

McDonald’s All Day Breakfast Van - Friday 21st October, 11am - 4pm

TikTok saw it first- there’s a Maccies van, and it’s going on tour to unis across the UK. This Friday, they will be outside the Union giving away free McMuffins (that’s right, free!) and other surprises.

Head over to the Union website to find out more.

Opportunities Fayre & Vintage Vera - Friday 21st October, 11:30am - 3:30pm

The Opportunities Fayre is back for one more day. If you missed this last time, pop over to the Union building to learn about development opportunities, improve your wellbeing, and become a plant mum (ofc).

Plus, Vera is back with her Kilo Sale, so you can update your wardrobe at the same time.

Black History Month Film Screening - Friday 21st October, from 7pm

Portsmouth Film Society has organised a series of screenings throughout Black History Month and beyond, held at Southsea Cinema & Arts Centre. The films range from drama to documentary, and students can bag half price tickets for a selection of the screenings.

This Friday, the screening is Mississippi Burning (1988) - a historical crime film based around the disappearance of three civil rights workers. For more information and to book tickets click here.
